Foreign tourists find mountain bike and motorbike tours in Vietnam simply the best way to see the country from the ground up, and gain a deeper understanding of local customs and traditions.
Saigontourist in Vietnam has taken the initiative, with a group of 13 Swiss tourists visiting central Vietnam as part of a cycling tour along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The 29-day tour arranged by HCMC-based Saigontourist Travel Service Co. will run until Oct. 14.
Departing from Danang on Sept. 24, the tourists traversed the Hai Van mountain pass by mountain bike on their way to the ancient capital of Hue.
The group will visit Phong Nha Cave and famous military battle sites from the Vietnam War such as Khe Sanh and A Luoi.
The group will then trek south to the Central Highlands province of Kontum where they will stop at Sedang and Ede ethnic minority villages. They will then fly from Buon Ma Thuot – capital of Daklak Province to HCMC.
Saigontourist plans to pencil in a tour to Vung Tau beach city and the Cu Chi Tunnels in HCMC before the Swiss tourists return home.
The innovative travel company’s motorbike tours have also caught the attention of foreign travelers. The tours include Vietnam’s popular sites like Can Tho, Dalat, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi, Sapa, and Ha Long Bay.
One of the recent successful motorbike tours was a trans-Vietnam trek designed for an Australian group of tourists for 20 days in May.
