Danang lnternational Sailing Regatta 2006 to be held

After Danang Beach has been listed in the world's most attractive beaches by the US Forbes magazine on October 2005, Goodman Marine International (GMI) will co-ordinate Danang Tourism Department to organise Danang International Sailing Regatta 2006, said the city’s authority on November 2, 2005.

Sailing race is sports tourism, very popular in countries with long and fine coast, good climate, potential in tourism diversities and standardized infrastructures.

Regional few countries are successful in sailing races like Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia... These races are normally organized by yachting or sailing clubs or associations.

Goodman Marine International - Singapore (GMI), the organizor of successful Vinacapital Hongkong Vietnam 2004 in Nha Trang, highly appreciate the ideal condition of Danang including long beautiful beach, clean water, cool weather, smooth wave.

The event will start at the end of August, 2006 and end on 2nd September 2006, the National Day of Vietnam, with the participation of about 300 Vietnamese and international racers.

The competition will be divided into two routes: the sort route: Danang Bay - Furama Resort, the long route: Danang – Cu Lao Cham and Danang – northern Hai Van.

The image of Danang city and world heritage sites in the central region will be promoted during the event.
