HCMC flower festivals bloom for lunar New Year

Flower festivals will go to bloom starting January 22 to welcome the Tet lunar New Year of the Dog at parks throughout Vietnam southern metro Ho Chi Minh City, with some 1,400 lots of flowers

According to the city’s organizing committee, the largest festival will be at the September 23rd Park featuring nearly 1,000 lots, including new strains of flowers. The festival will run until January 28, with Tet this year falling on January 29.

The Spring Flower Markets at Tao Dan Park are set to run from January 24 to February 4. In addition, the markets will take place at Gia Dinh Park in Binh Thanh District with around 200 lots and Le Van Tam Park in District 1, and District 7 at Phu My Hung.

A vast array of flower varieties will also be showcased at Nguyen Hue Boulevard in district 1 from January 26 to 31 as a pedestrian street walk area.

The organizing committee also plans to organize “dog shows” and “most beautiful dog contests” at the Tao Dan Park flower market to ring in the year the dog.
